So I wanted to do a Video Blog (or is it vlog?) today, but I sound…well…gross. I’ve unfortunately been sick most of this Spring Break (can we same l-a-m-e?) and although I am on the downhill side and feeling a little better I will spare you my stuffy nose, and sore throat and try my best to win you over with my eloquent typing skills.
Although sick and tired, I had time to see my latest movie recommendation, Alice in Wonderland. It was everything I hoped it would be, and then some. I loved the different take on the classic story…not to mention the fabulous acting. And not just because I think Johnny Depp is attractive. Because let’s face it, not even he can pull off the mad hatter and make it sexy. But it was fabulous. Make time to watch it, and watch it in 3-D if you get the chance. Way worth it. Oh, and as for taking your children… I say no younger than 6 or 7. It is important for them to know the difference between real and make believe before seeing this film. And, obviously the 3-D will make it more realistic. I wouldn’t say that it is a dark movie, just be advised that it isn’t a super happy and bright movie. It’s somewhere in between.
So what shall you do this weekend? Well I hear the weather is going to be anti-Spring and snow again. I have a bad feeling Spring Break hates me. But regardless there are fun things to be done before your week of fun ends!
My recommendation? Take a few minutes and just stop. Stop entertaining, stop cooking, stop working out, stop. And just play. Play with your kids. Play a game you haven’t played in years. Play a movie. Play a song. And dance. This weekend, just slow down and recount your blessings. Take a break from reality for a few hours and enjoy yourself. Let me know how it goes..
