So we here at Lubbock Neighbors (that was totally meant to sound like a Southern person with a weed hanging out the side of their mouth, not really sure why…I just wanted to convey to you the accent that was running through my head when I wrote that…. just go with it) want to start something called “Lubbock Loves” on our almost finished, rockin’ website. It will be a place where we (And YOU) can talk about the things you love most about Lubbock, and things that maybe just brightened your week that has nothing to do with Lubbock, you tell us. So I’m going to kick it off…
First things first… Spoonfuls frozen yogurt. I might have tweeted about this before, but man that stuff is good. And it’s really not all that bad for you, 90 calories per half a cup, aannnndd you can top it off with some delicious fresh fruit…or some cheesecake or brownie bites if you’re feeling naughty.
Next, Tinseltown theatre…I really don’t know that I have ever had a bad experience here. Except maybe the time that family went to see some Hannibal Lector movie while I was stuck watching Stuart Little II all alone…anyway…Make a stop there this weekend to see Date Night. Steve Carell and Tina Fey, in the same movie? I don’t know that it gets much better than that. I’m pretty sure that is the epitome of funny. See show times, here.
Thirdly, Rob Bell. I know he has nothing to do with Lubbock but I love him. And his insightful words continue to encourage me on days I need them most. You should look him up!
Let me know what you loved this week! Thanks for stopping by!
Your friendly Neighborhood blogger,
