Denim dress and goats…..?

When I was thinking about home schooling our children,(many years ago) I didn’t want anybody to tell me I had to wear a denim dress or a hanky on my head. And especially…please don’t tell me I would need to stop taking birth control. No offense Duggar family. If I decide to home school, will I have to raise goats and chickens? Will I have to bake my own bread and sew all of our own clothes? Not that’s there anything wrong with all of that, I’m just a more simple kind of girl….Chili’s for dinner! When I would say, “time for dinner”, the kids would run get in the car.

Well, I did decide to home school. That was…well…a long time ago. It was the best decision we made for our family. Homes chooling is not for everyone, but it was for us. If you’re thinking about home schooling, do your research, talk to people, and pray about it. You can find some good information on the Texas Home School Coalition website. Anything you decide, that you feel is in the best interest for your kids and family, is a good decision.
